Inventory operations
Item Links
Connect related inventory items with variants, related items, and bundles.
What Are Item Links?
Item Links connect related inventory items together. Stocklyst supports three link types — Variants, Related Items, and Bundles — each serving a different purpose.
Variants
Variants group items that are different versions of the same product — sizes, colors, materials, or other attributes. Each variant maintains its own SKU and independent quantity tracking.
- Attribute-based navigation between variants
- Each variant has its own SKU, pricing, and stock levels
- An item can belong to only one variant group
Related Items
Related Items create peer-to-peer links between any items for cross-sell visibility and complementary product grouping.
- Unlimited connections per item
- Add or remove links without affecting item identity
- Useful for accessories, complementary products, or substitutes
Bundles
Bundles are virtual products made up of multiple component items. They don't have their own inventory — availability is automatically calculated from component stock.
- Set quantity needed per bundle for each component
- Availability = minimum complete bundles from current stock
- Bottleneck indicator highlights the limiting component
- Calculated per branch based on component quantities
- Cost price auto-calculated from sum of component costs
