Branches & Zones

Organize inventory by physical locations with branch and zone hierarchy.

Branches

Branches represent physical locations where you store inventory — warehouses, stores, offices, or distribution centers.

  • Head Office: One branch can be designated as the "Head Office." This is typically your main location and appears first in selection lists.
  • Switching branches: Use the branch selector in the header to switch between locations. The dashboard shows inventory for the selected branch.

Zones

Zones are storage areas within a branch — aisles, shelves, rooms, or any subdivision that helps you organize inventory.

  • All inventory quantities must be assigned to a zone for accurate tracking
  • Enables precise location tracking (e.g., "Aisle A, Shelf 3")
  • Supports detailed transfers (zone-to-zone)
  • Improves accuracy during stock counts

Note: Each branch has a default zone. If you don't need detailed location tracking, you can keep everything in the default zone.

Example Zones

  • Warehouse: "Main Floor", "Mezzanine", "Receiving", "Cold Storage"
  • Retail: "Sales Floor", "Back Room", "Display Window"
  • Office: "Supply Closet", "Server Room"
